Yacon Molasses online
- Yacon roots are actually plant extracts that have been around since the time of the past. Originated in the Andes of South America, it was first discovered by the Inca Empire to be of nutritional value and medicinal properties.
- Because of this advantage, not long ago, its reputation spread to more countries in South America, namely Peru, Brazil and Bolivia. Because it has only a few calories and low sugar, its dried leaves make anti-diabetic yacon tea, while its roots serve as a nutritional supplement for people with diabetes and digestive and kidney conditions.
- Fast forward to our modern era, there is not much difference. Recent studies and clinical studies have shown that the benefits of this plant extract for weight loss are quite significant and are now known as "metabolic game changers," noted Dr. Mehmet Oz, US TV.
- The root extract that has produced so much noise is Yacon Syrup.
- How Yacon Syrup Works
- Yacon syrups are naturally rich in prebiotics such as insulin and fructooligosaccharides (FOS), which are naturally found in plants. The concentration of FOS is particularly high. Now, with FOS, it is able to resist the breakdown of enzymes found in our digestive tract, so it can reach the colon without being digested.
- In this case, the Yunnan root syrup had only a third of the calorie value of the sugar, i.e., about 20 calories per tablespoon or 133 calories per 100 grams. That's why it can be a good substitute for sugar in your food or drink.
- Ingredient FOS also helps to feed good bacteria found in our colonies, such as Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus. Studies have shown that these bacteria have anti-inflammatory and immune-enhancing effects; therefore, there is more of them in our colon to help maintain healthy and ideal body weight. In turn, these good bacteria convert FOS to short-chain fatty acids, which can help the liver synthesize cholesterol and improve insulin sensitivity in tissues.
- In addition, FOS acts as a soluble fiber, which helps increase the volume of stools and stops constipation. It also demonstrates the ability to balance the production of some gastrointestinal peptides, which help regulate insulin levels and food intake. Therefore, Yunnan syrup can help control appetite, so that we can eat less food.

- Clinical Study on Yangzi Root Syrup
- Dr. Oz has done his own experiments to understand how Yacon syrup can effectively help people lose weight. He asked 60 female participants to take one tablespoon of Yunnan syrup before meals or before meals, without making any changes to their daily diet and exercise habits. Of the 60, only 40 completed the trial, but the results showed that:
- Twenty-nine of the 40 women reported weight loss.
- 14 women lost at least 5 pounds.
- Women's average weight loss was about 3 pounds.
- Also note that the waist is reduced by almost 2 inches.
- Another study aimed to assess the benefits and tolerability of Yacon syrup in humans. The results show that the daily consumption of the syrup not only body weight but also waist size and body mass index also significantly decreased.
- In addition, satiety was observed with increased stool frequency. Fasting glucose and serum lipids were not affected by the uptake of Yacon syrup, and favorable effects were observed in serum LDL-cholesterol levels.
- This particular study suggests that Yunnan syrup is a good source of FOS and that long-term consumption will have many health benefits, especially for pre-menopausal women with insulin resistance.
